Travelling the world and DJ'ing in front of large crowds? - it's nice work, if you can get it. We recently caught up with one of the Louis' of DJ Knighthood (yes, both DJs are named Louis...) in Paris where the duo is based. Hear their story of how they broke into the French DJ scene.

(translated into English from French)

How did DJ Knighthood begin?
We think of DJ Knighthood as a journey and friendship between two French guys with the same love: music. Louis and I met in Paris on December 21, 2012 - that's the day it all began for us. It has been a step by step process for us, first starting out playing in small Parisian clubs and graduating onto bigger venues.

So you guys are really both named Louis?
A real coincidence! In France, Louis is the name of many Kings (another link to the Knighthood...).

Any upcoming projects you're excited about?
After many months of work, we are excited to open a new chapter in our musical repertoire. But for now, we're looking forward to travelling to new countries and continents, meeting new people, and releasing new music.

Will you be playing any shows in the US soon?
One day, we hope! This country has always warmly welcomed French DJs.

What does it feel like to play in front of a large crowd?
It's an indescribable feeling to see people united through music. Seeing those crowds provides a happiness for us - it's therapeutic, even.

What advice do you have for those looking to work in the music industry?
Create, be ambitious, and surround yourself with the right people.

What other musicians are you digging right now?
We are always looking for new music and support up-and-coming French DJs. We've included Kungs, Damien Ndrix, Antoine Delvig, and more in our DJ sets. Of course, our inspiration often comes from veterans but we also admire new artists like the Barong Family.

How would you describe your style?
DJ'ing is a good opportunity for us to try different styles depending on the venue. Music and fashion go hand-in-hand. Our fashion style depends on the kind of music we will play.

How do you accessorize?
Leather jacket, sneakers, sometimes a cap, and always a Leonard & Church.

What do you love about Paris?
The city is full of surprises. The beautiful architecture is so pleasant when you are walking, biking, or riding your scooter. Everyone should come visit this amazing city.
